On foot, by bike or on horseback
Whether on foot, by bike, or on horseback, there's no shortage of hiking trails in Ariège. Starting from Foix or a little further afield, numerous routes await you, for all levels.
Embark on the Saint-Sauveur Trail or explore the Terraces of Pech. You can also visit the Laurède Mill, follow the Fontargente Ponds Loop, or explore the Green Way, which crosses the Ariège Pyrenees.

Discovering the Cathar Castles
The Cathar Castles are a true emblem of the region. Witnesses to the past, they immerse you in history. Among the most famous are the Château de Quéribus, at an altitude of 700m, and the Château de Peyrepertuse, perched on its limestone cliff.
You will enjoy visiting Roquefixade, whose fortress, facing Montségur, has retained only a wall and a tower over time.
Villages to admire
Around Foix, you'll have the pleasure of discovering numerous villages. Head towards Mirepoix (35km) to admire its medieval fortified town and half-timbered houses. We also recommend visiting the Citadel of Carla-Bayle, which dates back to the 14th century.
Explore the 30km that separate our hotel from Montségur. Stroll through its narrow streets, let yourself be charmed by its traditional fireplaces and climb up to the ruins of the castle.
A swing to perfect
Golf enthusiasts will also find plenty to enjoy in Ariège. Head to La Bastide-de-Sérou, about 20 kilometers from your accommodation: there you'll find the Ecogolf Ariège Pyrénées. Whatever your skill level, you'll have a great time on the course or the driving range. Get started with a professional or perfect your swing!
A plunge into the past
In just 15 minutes by car, you'll reach the Prehistory Park. Through a fun visit and interactive workshops, you'll learn more about prehistoric art, hunting, and daily life.
Children and adults alike can try their hand at painting, archaeological digs, and even flint knapping.
